What is in a name?

Yesterday, Bub had a message to call a customer and her name was spelled Le-A. After pondering the spelling, Bub decided, as many of us would, that the girl's name was pronounced "Lee/a" (long e, short a).

When Bub called the girl and referred to her by name, he was quickly corrected on the pronunciation of her name.

She said, "My name is not 'lee/a'. It is pronounced 'le/dash/a'. The dash isn't silent!"

I just wonder what Shakespeare would think of that name?

Fall Break

Ah, we had such big plans for this one day break.

First, we tossed around the idea of going to Atlanta to spend the night, go to see Wicked, and then have a shopapalooza. Unfortunately, Kaylea and I were the only two that liked the plan, so we tossed the idea.

Then, we talked about going camping. Well, that idea had to be scratched, as well. Apparently, everyone's schedules were in conflict and it just wasn't a do-able trip.

Then, Kaylea and I decided we would go to Gatlinburg and roam the streets, ride the sky lift, go to Ripley's, and take a trip into the mountains to peak at the leaves. Well, it appears that Mother Nature had different plans for us since she has decided to send in the rain, wind, and cold.

So, guess what Kaylea and I have done for our Fall Break? We slept in, watched t.v. and currently, at 2:33 pm, we are still in our jammies.

I'm thinking Mother Nature knows best. We needed this break and we needed the down time.

Crazy Daze of Autumn

Around our house there are a couple of times during the year that things just get CRAZY. The first being June and the next being mid-September through January. Honestly, I was in shock when I looked back at my previous post and saw how long it had been. I use to be a daily or every other day poster. But recently, I just haven't been able to find the time. I just don't know why I have been such a slacker. Gee, could it be,

  1. Starting a new job
  2. Being put in the hospital for 4 days
  3. Preparing for Kaylea's birthday party while fighting off a sinus infection
  4. Parents visiting for a week
  5. Camping trip last weekend
  6. Yard sale this weekend
  7. Preparing for another birthday party next weekend
  8. Camping the following weekend
  9. Halloween and costumes to create (Kaylea and me)
  10. Volunteering at Boo-at-the-Zoo
  11. Taste of Home Entertaining parties
  12. Thanksgiving
  13. Christmas (yes, there are only 78 days left)

It's enough to make a sane girl go a little crazy. I know I will make it though. I do every year, don't I?
